S "Silver Bells in the City" may be the one held in the coldest part of the year, but by far, not the most joyful. Lansing has it's own style of celebrating all sorts of things, from 4th of July, cultural events, and a variety of holidays. Parades hightlight not only Michigan Week in May, but also 4th of July and Michigan Pride March. Native Americans hold one of their Pow Wows at Riverfront Park in June. Old Town hosts such festivals as Summer Solstice, Oktoberfest and Jazzfest. And winter holidays wouldn't be complete without "Silver Bells" which highlights the lighting of the State of Michigan Christmas Tree on the Capital lawn. Lansing knows the value of celebrating their citizen's interests.
