M
Michigan, Michigan a place close to our heart, for this is where Lansing got its start.

"If you seek a fair peninsula, look around." So goes our state motto. We hope your time spent here will inspire you to venture further, both in "cyber" Michigan and other places around our fair land, and its Great Lakes.

M "There is gold in the eye of the morning…. In Michigan where I was born.", so goes the opening line of a song about our lovely state. Michigan is surrounded by one-fith of the world's surface fresh water, and has 36,000 miles of lakes and streams. This may account for the record number of pleasure boats registered to people in any of the fifty states. There are 150 waterfalls, and over 11,000 inland lakes. No wonder our love of the environment.

Our fair state can boast many more unique features, including a rich history. With the help of cyberspace, we are fortunate to be able to visit our history, from old Forte Detroit, to the Edmond Fitzgerald, or tales told around a logging camp supper table; the possibilities are almost endless. We can learn more about the people who not only made our history, but those who study and record it. Settle back, get comfortable the journey's just begun.
