About L is for Lansing
During the fall of 1999, while reading M is For Mitten by Annie Appleford and Kathy-jo Wargin, I thought to myself,
"We could do this with Lansing!" I took the idea (and a few poems) to a Young Spartan Steering Committee Meeting, where a group of
teachers were trying to come up with some ideas to supplement our then new Social Studies Curriculum. From that day on this idea has
blossomed, and I am thankful to everyone involved for their help, support, and enthusiasm!
It is our goal to celebrate Lansing's history while utilizing community resources. We also hope to provide insight to our unique automotive heritage. Though we have geared this project to K-5 children, we believe that this site contains points of interest for learners of all ages.
It is with great pride in our community that we present you with L is for Lansing!
